How it works
- Film your swing. Record a 1–20 second video on your iPhone from down-the-line or face-on, with your whole body in frame. A tripod or a propped-up phone works fine.

What it grades
The analyzer measures your swing at the nine standard checkpoints coaches use — P1 (address) through P9 (finish) — and grades each one good, okay, or needs work. Under the checkpoint verdicts sit the raw measurements:

Faults are ranked by severity, so the report leads with the one change most worth practicing — not a wall of numbers.
A score you can trust
Two things make the grade honest. First, it is deterministic: your score and verdicts are computed by fixed rules from what was measured — the AI writes the explanation, it never decides the score, and the same swing always gets the same grade. Second, it never guesses: if your video can’t support a measurement (wrong angle for that metric, poor visibility), that checkpoint says “not assessed” and tells you why, instead of feeding a made-up number into your score.
Built for indoor golf
Everything is graded from your body’s movement in the video, so a garage net, a home simulator, or an indoor bay works as well as the range. - Is the swing analyzer free?
- The Flash Caddie app is free — scorecard, stats, and USGA/WHS handicap tracking cost nothing. AI swing analysis is part of Flash Caddie Pro ($49.99/year), which is around half the price of most standalone swing-analyzer subscriptions.
- What camera angle should I film from?
- Down-the-line (behind you, looking toward the target) or face-on (facing your chest). The analyzer detects which one you used automatically. Keep your whole body in frame and the clip between 1 and 20 seconds.
- Does it work indoors — in a garage, net, or simulator bay?
- Yes. The analysis grades your body movement from video, so it works anywhere your full body is visible and reasonably lit: a garage net, a home simulator, an indoor bay, or the range. No launch monitor or sensors required.
- Which clubs and swings can it grade?
- Full swings with an iron or a driver, detected automatically from the video. It does not grade putting, chipping, or partial wedge swings.
- Will the same swing always get the same score?
- Yes — grading is deterministic. Your score and checkpoint verdicts are computed by fixed rules from what was measured in the video. The AI writes the explanation; it never decides the score. The same swing in, the same grade out.
- What can't it measure?
- Anything that needs ball or club-head tracking: ball flight, carry distance, club-head speed, and face angle at impact are launch-monitor territory. And when your video can't support a specific measurement, that checkpoint is marked "not assessed" with the reason — it is never guessed.
- Is my swing video private?
- Yes. Videos are stored privately in your account and used only to produce your report. Nobody else can view them.
