How scramble handicaps work
In a scramble, the team plays one ball, so full handicaps would be far too many strokes. Instead each player contributes a percentage of their course handicap — the lowest handicap gets the largest share — and the team handicap is the total.
Standard allowances: 2-player 35% / 15%; 3-player 30% / 20% / 10%; 4-player 25% / 20% / 15% / 10%. Example: a four-player team with course handicaps of 6, 12, 18, and 24 → 6×25% + 12×20% + 18×15% + 24×10% = 1.5 + 2.4 + 2.7 + 2.4 = 9.
